I found Kate on Instagram and reached out for some advice about prepping for the West Buttress Route on Denali. She was clearly very knowledgable and gave me some solid advice about training, specifically to haul my sled from camp to camp. My training wasn’t going great so I reached out to her again and signed up to her coaching program. From the very start she strategically set out a very mountain specific training plan and adapted everything to suit me and most importantly get me fit enough for Denali! We focused a lot on mindset and cold adaptation as those were the two areas I was most concerned with.

In the build up to Denali, work became increasingly stressful and it became difficult to manage working hours plus my training schedule. After a distressed message to Kate, she got on the phone with me, spoke some good sense and adjusted my training schedule so that it was manageable without compromising on my fitness for Denali. It was a make or break moment/couple of weeks for me and she flawlessly guided me through it and helped me refocus on what was important. Days in the mountains not in the office.

She was instrumental in every aspect of my preparation and was the positive and energetic kick up the arse every time I started slacking/skipping sessions. I’d recommend Kate to anyone venturing into the high altitude world whether that’s Kilimanjaro or the likes of Denali.

Matt

If I’m being completely honest, I don’t think I would have even done Denali let alone summited without Kate.

Denali

Prior to working with Kate, my preparation was haphazard and incoherent. I’d get longer hikes in when I could, but this was never consistent enough, and I was never prepared enough when the time came to join a trek.

A few months ago I had the opportunity to work with Kate as my coach, prior to my next major trek, and the opportunity just seemed too good to miss. And I have not regretted taking that final step.

The biggest improvements I’ve had so far are:
Improved performance in the gym, particularly on the treadmill.

Improved performance on the trail – personal best times, less muscle soreness, better recovery.

Having a friend along on the journey to excel on the trail. Discussing changes to the exercises so that they better suit what my body can accomplish. Building confidence.

David

Kate has become a sounding board and a seemingly bottomless source of knowledge that has become invaluable to me as I prepare for my international treks.

Yukon

Pushing myself isn’t something I could always do. Especially pacing myself. To be honest, I totally suck at that and end up in either extremes - burnt-out or not reaching my goals and then in both cases, I end up stopping almost all training and sucked during the hike or whatever I had planned to train for.

But Kate’s training program was amazing, especially the guidance from Kate herself, which she did in the most loving and respectful, but very determined way. For the first time I accomplished a dream hiking trip and felt so much pride in what I (and my body) could do. I am absolutely 100% convinced that my trust in myself and my capabilities came through her training!

I never would have thought that - feeling and knowing I can do even more when I do the right training, so exciting!

Carola

However big or even small your goal feels… You should train with Kate. Find a way, even if it’s a smaller time frame because it is 1000% worth it!

Following two months of unwavering commitment and discipline, I'm pleased to report our collaboration's initial triumph: fostering a sanctuary for my physical and emotional well-being through dedicated training. Compared to two months prior, I find myself in markedly better spirits. I relish Kate's steadfast support and regard her as an integral part of my support network.

Furthermore, two additional achievements have materialized as byproducts of Kate’s training regimen: a one-point increase in my VO2 max and a recent mountain excursion to a height of 3,200 meters affirmed my improved physical condition compared to last summer.

I find myself in superior physical and mental shape compared to a year ago and the difference is all down to Kate’s training.

Miranda

I absolutely wouldn’t have made the fitness and strength gains that I have if I hadn’t started training with Kate.

Mt Shasta & Mt Rainier

Next to feeling strong in my endurance, it was especially the mental preparation and my “why” that got me to the summit. I LOVE that your coaching goes far beyond the physical preparation and encompasses all aspects of mountaineering.

THANK YOU! You are absolutely amazing!

Eva

Kate, it was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The weather conditions were hard but I felt physically and mentally strong, which I attribute 100% to you and your training!!

Mt Rainier

I may have talked nonstop about you, your program and all the amazing things I’ve learned because of this program. I mean, I trusted your process but to see it play out like it did in real life is amazing! I was so prepared on so many levels. Hands down the best $ I have ever spent was hiring you as my coach.

I was feeling confident that you’d be a great fit to program my workouts. Really focusing on what’ll get me where I want to go. I didn’t realize just how ‘heard’ I’d feel.

We haven’t even really started and already I feel immensely supported to reach my current goals but also you’re cheering me on for my dream goals. Not having others in my life that share this passion for hiking & this style of adventuring your excitement and encouragement to go after my wish list treks has my walking on clouds today.

What a gift you are!!!!

Carrie

We haven’t even really started and already I feel immensely supported to reach my goals.

John Muir (NOBO)

I was alone on the mountain yesterday and I was scared and anxious and listening to the Q&A call helped me so much to keep my anxiety down. I was in tears when I reached the summit.

I remember the very first call I had with Kate, when I was deciding whether or not to join the program. My self esteem was so low and I cried in that call. And now, here I am, having done a mountain on my own, feeling strong, confident and capable to attempt the things I love to do. Even if it's on my own!

I had lost my state of fitness and was very out of shape - and training for this formidable mountain was a tall order. I was joining an expedition led by one of the most famous and accomplished mountaineers in the world, and I had so much fear of failure and about not training in the right way, and I wanted to be the strongest version of myself on the Aconcagua expedition. I came to Kate after training 3 months on my own. I had fears I was over or undertraining and I knew that on my own I was not getting out of my comfort zone to do all the necessary training.

I successfully summitted Aconcagua and I honestly don’t think I would have made it without Kate’s physical and mindset training. I ascended the Canaleta repeating Kate’s mantra “outlast” and reached the summit and safely descended the entire mountain back to base camp after summiting – it was a continual 31-hour journey from Camp 2 to the summit and back to base camp. That is the POWER of Kate’s training – endurance, mental toughness, being unstoppable. Successfully climbing Aconcagua was a crowning achievement in my life, but the biggest success from that journey is that Kate helped me see myself and believe in myself as an athlete and a mountaineer, and that if I train my body and my mind in the right way, I am capable of anything.

Sy

My decision to train for Aconcagua with Kate was the best investment I have ever made in myself and in my mountaineering aspirations.

Aconcagua

I came for training structure but what I have appreciated most is all the other nuggest of information you give!!! The mental, the gear info, the food, how to prepare, etc. You are soooo knowledgeable and I appreciate it so much!!!!

Lisa

I am sure you hear this all the time but I just wanted to tell you what a great coach you are and how much I appreciate you!!!

Cayambe & Cotopaxi

When I started training for Aconcagua I was excited, but doubted my ability, eager, but nervous I was not prepared. From day one you helped allay my fears and encouraged self- confidence. You gave me the tools and guidance to be physically prepared for my journey. You gave me the emotional support and mental fortitude necessary to achieve my goals.
As our time together comes to a close, I feel a sense of mourning. You have been by my side as coach, mentor, and cheerleader only four months but in that time, you have become an integral part of my journey. I will miss that.

Anne

Looking to the weeks ahead, I now know that whatever I achieve, whatever summit may or may not reach, I did my best. That was possible because of you.

Aconcagua

My training prior to Kate's mountain coach training was more triathlon focused, my background. This works for endurance but not sport specific for mountain climbing. This change in focus made a big difference, allowing me to focus on a specific target, a very big mountain.

Kate’s program was the perfect challenge for a mountain climbing adventure, especially one as difficult as Aconcagua. Training was tough, not just the exercises but the sequence and the super sets. They really pushed me. I have the drive and desire but needed more direction in my training. Kate's training did exactly that for me and I am very appreciative.

I knew Aconcagua was significantly harder than any physical activity I have done before. I knew I needed more help, Kate's training did exactly that, it was sport specific.

Training with Kate helped me with endurance, strength and confidence. I was extremely intimidated by Aconcagua. Being fortified physically and mentally helped make a difference. Mountain climbing is not just physical, it's mental too. You have to be prepared on both fronts. Kate's training did that for me. I highly recommend Kate and am so appreciative and grateful I worked with her.

Peggy

Training with Kate helped me tremendously leading up to Aconcagua. I was very intimidated by the size and height of this mountain.

Aconcagua

I had decided to get back into mountaineering and climb Aconcagua after almost a decade of devoting my free time to kids, pets, etc. I made some progress training on my own, but it was inconsistent and felt inadequate. Kate was the obvious choice for me as I had read her book the previous year and gained so much from it.

The training plan she set for me was divided into three phases over 6 months and helped me manageably and realistically move from basically zero fitness to what I needed to climb Aconcagua. She continually adapted it as I got fitter and pushed me on a weekly basis to improve my mindset in incremental yet powerful ways.

Kate is a great coach who obviously knows what she’s doing in the high altitude mountaineering world but more importantly knows how to shift her coaching approach for each individual client in order to help them really reach their best mental and physical state.

Maria

If you're thinking about climbing Aconcagua - you should absolutely join Kate's Peak Performance Program. You'll see yourself on the summit long before you even get there!

Aconcagua

One of my favourite things about working with Kate were the Q and A calls. These sessions with Kate serve for introspection and personal development. They provide a platform to address uncertainties and glean insights from Kate's wealth of experience, ultimately fortifying my growth journey.

Second: The community. Being part of Kate's coachees community is immensely fulfilling. Knowing that I'm not alone in my endeavors but rather surrounded by a diverse group of individuals around the globe fosters a sense of solidarity and shared wisdom. It's truly invigorating to exchange experiences and insights within this supportive space.

Third: The app. The app is a game-changer for me. Its user-friendly interface and practical features make tracking and managing my workouts effortless. Plus, its seamless integration with my Garmin device streamlines the process of monitoring my training progress, ensuring that I easily stay on top of my fitness goals.

Greetings from the grand finale of the Inca trail! I was definitely thinking of you on the gringo killer portion and thanking you for all the step ups and muscle endurance work you had me do! Everything's been amazing, the weather, our guide and entire team! I've been acclimating well and feeling so strong!

Thank you for all your support and wisdom over the past few months!!

I also just wanted to say how much I've loved the community you've created - everyone is so supportive and positive and it's really just a reflection of you and the energy you put out into the world!

Sandra

Thank you Kate, I would not have felt this great without your guidance and love! You are truly so inspiring and such a gift.

I’ve been acquainted with Kate since 2021 when I came across her book on mountaineering and trekking. Her book is incredibly practical, easy to understand, and backed by solid evidence. It's filled with valuable tips that I've been applying ever since.

This year, I decided to sign up with Kate and join her coaching program in preparation for my Elbrus attempt, and I can confidently say that I was completely satisfied with the experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend Kate if you want to streamline your mountain training journey and avoid trial and error. I feel blessed to have had Kate's support throughout my mountain and hiking journey.

Ayesha

Kate's tips and support during the climb where invaluable.

Aconcagua

I've sometimes found the mountains to be quite exclusive and inaccessible to me. Heck, they didn't even offer women's versions of the gear I needed when I was starting out. But having Kate as a coach has opened up the mountains and made it easier to talk about really important topics like periods and IBS on the mountain, how mountaineering and motherhood fit together, and how to deal with the fears that many of us have. She's also totally badass and an inspiring role model in her own right.

It's so reassuring to have an expert who you can go to for all of the questions you have about an expedition that feel really silly, but take up space in your head. She never judges you about the types of questions you ask, no matter how silly they might seem! By sharing her knowledge and pearls of wisdom from years of experience, she makes the mountains much more accessible and inclusive.

Katie

Kate is so much more than a trekking and mountaineering coach.

Aconcagua

Before I started working with Kate, I found myself spending countless hours at the gym, but deep down, I couldn't shake the anxiety that I might not be making any actual progress or working out in the most effective way.

Being coached by Kate was a breath of fresh air.

I'd be remiss not to mention the three monumental improvements that I gained from Kate’s coaching program:

The boost in my confidence was truly remarkable. Knowing that I had not just a seasoned mountaineer training me but also a Sports Scientist rather than just a regular fitness trainer instilled in me a newfound belief in my abilities.

My endurance has become an undeniable strength. I put it to the test on Elbrus, where I was able to persevere for hours on end without feeling exhausted or worn out.

The level of clarity I achieved throughout the program was unparalleled. Kate’s explanations, backed by scientific knowledge, not only enlightened me but also empowered me to make informed decisions about my workouts, gear, and recovery. This approach went beyond blindly following convention and made me feel truly educated.

Semreen

It gave me a sense of relief knowing that you were diligently monitoring my progress and providing me with tailored guidance every step of the way.

Today was epic! Going up was amazing. Felt really really strong. The ropes section I did so well too!!!! Going down was another story…. My guide was a bully and wouldn’t let me down climb. I was really really scared facing outwards and just trusting my feet. The conditions were also super icy because it rained last night. But overall I would say it was epic…. I knew going down was a weakness and just so happy I felt strong going up!!!!

Jodi

Thank you so much for your support, guidance and ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️ I am FOREVER GRATEFUL!!!!!

Matterhorn

Before teaming up with Kate, my approach to high-altitude training was as haphazard as a wanderer without a map. Cardio sessions here and there, following gym instructors' suggestions, but lacking a defined objective. It felt like scaling a mountain with no summit in sight.

Nutrition was a similar story, a repetitive cycle lacking purpose.

After trying out several pre-made plans without achieving my desired results, I realized I needed a more personalized approach. I craved for a coach who could provide me with tailored training and ongoing communication. That’s where Kate came in. Her 1:1 coaching has been a game-changer for me. I've experienced firsthand the power of personalized guidance in delivering tangible results, something that prebuilt programs simply can't match.

She doesn't just train me for mountainous challenges; she elevates my overall readiness for life's ups and downs. Her coaching serves as a catalyst for my personal development, making every aspect of my life better.

Before delving into results, I believe it's crucial to provide context. This year, the paramount summit to conquer is my health. At the onset of the year, I grappled with a bout of Psoriasis, an autoimmune ailment that triggers skin inflammation, often exacerbated by stress. During these tumultuous days, I commenced work with Kate, aiming to prepare myself for a Mont Blanc ascent come summer.

Adhering to routines initially proved challenging as I navigated emotional turbulence. I vividly recall expressing to Kate during one coaching session that my pinnacle for the year was reclaiming life's equilibrium. For me, Mont Blanc, my final objective, symbolized reaching its summit and reclaiming the spaces lost amidst life's chaos to nurture my mind, soothe my emotions, exercise, and nourish my body properly.

Andrés

Kate's program is not just about conquering physical peaks. It's a comprehensive approach that integrates physical, nutritional, mental, and emotional dimensions.

Arête des Cosmiques & Mont Blanc

I reached out to Kate over instagram and she quickly responded by email and with a follow up call. I had tried an online training program from a well known high altitude training company before but it felt generic, I couldn’t talk to anyone, ask any questions or voice my concerns so having that first call was a really important aspect for me.

Kate is a real person who I could talk to and share my experience, concerns and work/life/kids balance. I felt understood and that she really took into account my concerns and the previous disappointing experience that I had had with a different coach. She took in all the info I shared with her and developed a training plan and nutrition plan that was realistic and fitted my life with two jobs and two kids. Her app was straight forward and easy to follow.

I’ve been working with her for 12 weeks now as I prep for Mont Blanc and I have to say, when you have a question she will not only answer it but also follow up and check again later in the week to see how everything’s going - regarding training, food, equipment and mindset.

I’ve got 4 more weeks until Mont Blanc and I feel like I have 20 times more energy and focus not just in training but also in my self employed job and as a professional fire fighter. I’ve worked with coaches before but Kate is something else - I feel fitter, stronger and more confident.

I would recommend her to everyone from novice hill walkers to someone wanting to climb Everest/K2.

Séamus

Working with Kate has been a life changing experience and I look forward to working with her for all my upcoming climbs.

Gran Paradiso & Mont Blanc

As well as the physical aspect of training, she provides mindset coaching and really helps build my confidence. She is a constant cheerleader and is so genuine in her interactions. Personally, she has been an incredible investment in my training.

My three favourite things about working with Kate are:

1. The value she has brought to my training and life in general. She is a constant support and is there on days when life gets stressful and affects training. Her approach is kind and caring and she has a way of pushing me forward in a gentle way.

2. I have noticed a huge increase in my fitness and strength since starting to work with Kate, which I know would not have been possible if I continued training on my own.

3. Because of her education, she has endless information in the areas of mountain specific training, nutrition and mindset. It's like have three coaches in one!

Lynda

There is no way I would have gotten to where I am now without Kate's guidance.

Spaghetti Tour

I started training with Kate for the Spaghetti Route in 2021 and successfully summited 10 peaks above 4,000m along that route in 5 days! After that, I extended my training with Kate and have been working with her since then climbing and mountaineering mainly in the Alps but also in New Zealand having successfully summited Mt Aspiring at the start of 2023. At the moment I’m preparing for 2-3 routes in the Swiss Alps with a more technical ascent. Highlight of the season will be the Eiger, via Ostegg and Mittellegigrat!

Juls

Its super motivating to work with Kate. She adapts the training schedule to my availability and training circumstances.

Spaghetti Tour, Schreckhorn, Breithorn Traverse, Eiger

When I started working with Kate, I honestly doubted whether I could really climb Mont Blanc & GP. Before working with her, my training had been inconsistent and pretty general but after seeing the first week of my 16 week training plan, I knew that it had been the right decision to work with her.

Even though I did MB & GP for the mountaineering experience, losing weight was a great and well received side effect of my work with Kate!

Overall, her systematic approach to training is simply without comparison; her skills and experience are vast and her positive nature and enthusiasm is infectious. Kate made my goal, her goal and every time we spoke, she helped settle my nerves and reminded me to concentrate on just ticking off the things on my weekly training/mindset plan instead of getting freaked out by the task at hand. I doubt I would have summited either peaks without Kate’s help and for that I absolutely recommend her for anyone wanting to climb MB/GP or any other high altitude peak!

Jessica

During my program, I also managed to lose 6kg and get in the best shape of my life.

Gran Paradiso & Mont Blanc

You will NEVER BELIEVE what happened Kate!! I spent my summit push 15 minutes behind Sophie Lavaud! Can you believe it? We almost had the same pace. I can’t wait to tell you ALLL about it!

I passed Mont Maudit strong and happy!! It was easier than I thought but the last bit was long and tiring. Sophie said she was so impressed!

Diane

I can’t thank you enough Kate!!! Clearly I wouldn’t have been able to do this without YOU!

Mont Blanc

Beyond the training, gear support, mindset work and insider tips, she’s also been a huge support through some extremely tough personal situations, when I struggled to juggle a stressful corporate career with training, and financial worries around how expensive the expedition was going to cost.

Kate has held me to account, and given me some tough love when I've been inconsistent with my training, but all done with empathy and love. She takes the time to get to know you so she understands your concerns and the way you think.

Katie

Let me start by saying: Kate is so much more than a trekking and mountaineering coach.

Be it basics like ensuring my water was treated to more advanced techniques such as descending using crampons and ice axe. All of the training programmes that Kate asigned me in the gym really paid off and I was honestly the strongest I've ever been on any climb.

Kate not only provided a comprehensive training programme but more importantly Kate was a sounding board for any concerns or worries that I had in advance of the climb(s).

We spoke often and Kate was always available to chat through any items that I had on my mind. This ranged from what snacks to bring, packing of gear/equipment and how to stay healthy on the climbs. Kate was hugely important as well when it came to preparing my mental game...we spoke about what the climb meant to me and how I might feel both in before and after.

Ronan

I found working with Kate to be invaluable, honestly I can say all of the training and advice Kate had provided me I utilised on a daily basis while on my climbs...

When I booked to climb Mount Toubkal, I was attending the gym to increase my physical fitness but I didn't know what to focus on and the PT's at my gym aren't specialised in mountaineering. I reached out to Kate and at the end of our first phone call, I had signed up for her programme.

She blew me away with her wealth of knowledge and experience. She designed a training program that helped improve my strength, endurance and flexibility, all essential for mountaineering.

Kate helped me improve my technique, set realistic goals and through monitoring my progress, encouraged me to push myself harder.

I could see my progress in the gym but for me, it really came through when I was out hiking. I could see such a huge improvement in my cardiovascular fitness, I was stronger and for me, most importantly, finally confident in my capability.

Working with Kate is the reason I reached the summit of Mount Toubkal. I would highly recommend Kate if you are taking on any type of Mountaineering challenge. Her dedication and professionalism are second to none and she gave me a love and understanding of exercise that I didn't have previously. I look forward to engaging with Kate again for my trip to Kilimanjaro in 2024.

Tara

I began approaching my training in a completely new way because I knew if I followed the programme, I would be able to climb Mount Toubkal.

Even though it’s not the highest summit I’ve done, the route was incredibly beautiful!

I was so anxious about potential knee pain and all the mental struggles, but I just got into the “zone” and absolutely loved it. I learned so much on this trek - that pain is SO IMPORTANT in our life and we need to listen to what it has to say instead of avoiding discomfort. I really got to know a new Mercedes and know that there is nothing I can’t outlast!

Kate, thank you again, without your physical and mental preparation, I don’t know how I would have managed. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

Mercedes

We were soooooooooooooo impressed by how solid my endurance base is since I started training with you!

Feeling strong all the way to the top and back down. Legs could continue without any soreness.

Heart rate was always between Z1 and Z2. Mind game was STRONG! My experience on Toubkal was just what I needed before Kilimanjaro. Feeling confident and strong! THANK YOU

Hi everyone, I made it to the top of Kili!! I wouldn't have done it without Kate's training plan and her motivation talks and also everyone's support on the weekly calls and the messages. It was a hard summit climb, the guides were amazing. I will dial into Tuesday's call to share my experience.

Christina

I wouldn't have done it without Kate's training plan and her motivation talks...

Initially, I was uncertain about my decision to start one-on-one coaching online after reading an Instagram post. However, it turned out to be the best decision, helping me transform myself in ways I hadn’t imagined. I felt demoralized after a guided climb where the guide commented on my pace, but your platform allowed me to be myself. Your training has made me more confident and strong.

I truly appreciate your coaching style, which builds both physical and mental endurance. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me.

Looking forward to spending another 5 months training with you for my next adventure: The Grand Tetons and Patagonia!

Chitra

It's been an incredible journey over the past five-plus months. Your Kilimanjaro story inspired me to reach out to you, and I am so thankful that I did.

A moment I will forever treasure as it is the beginning of the journey you helped me start towards reconnecting, rediscovering and authentically living my life as who I am and want to be.

My why will guide me: to reconnect with my identity. I am enough, I am loved. This is me. And your word I will make also mine “I can outlast any moment” will take me to the summit, any summit in life.

Veronica

Kate as I am seating in the plane now heading to Kilimanjaro, I have only words of huge gratitude for guiding my path to this moment.

With only a few weeks until summit day, I decided to hire Kate to ramp up my workout routine, fine tune my nutritional and supplement needs, and bring me up to speed on the logistics and requirements of summiting this particular mountain.

Kate quickly assessed my fitness level and designed a custom workout that would prepare me for my goal. She was encouraging and optimistic, but very blunt about the need to intensify my routine immediately in order to be completely prepared in such a short time.

The workouts were specific and challenging, just what I needed, Regular check-ins were scheduled and Kate made herself available to answer any question or concerns.
Her daily tips and messages provided much needed insight and motivation. She advised me on how I could be best prepared, not only physically but mentally & emotionally. She also helped me refine my gear list making suggestions and providing valuable insight.

I feel Kate’s training and input provided all essential elements and ultimately my summit
of Kilimanjaro was successful. This was the first time I had ever done almost my entire training in the gym, rather than in the mountains. I feel it was the key factor that allowed me to enjoy the climb and feel confident that I would achieve this dream of mine.

Patti

I feel Kate’s training and input provided all essential elements and ultimately my summit
of Kilimanjaro was successful.

I was very lucky to come across Kate when I read her book on Mountaineering & Trekking around the world and knew that she would be the right coach for me. I was 57 at the time and not really fit at all!

I was hoping to trek Mt.Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp and did not even have the right gear. So I dropped Kate an email and we organised a call and my personal journey began! Kate helped me get fit for Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp and I am so pleased to say I managed to summit Kili and get to EBC!

Menaka

I could not have done this without Kate as I do get complacent and if given a chance will happily skip a training session.

She is also always trying to adapt to the client’s needs. She is compassionate and disciplined which hugely helps when dealing with internal and external challenges.

The most beneficial aspects of working with Kate for me, were the flexibility, close connection and her app that centralized all the information. It made it so easy to track everything and tick off what I had to do each week.

Virginia

Kate’s coaching style is approachable and encouraging.

My training and mental state were good before starting with Kate but I needed a coach for accountability and a program with a plan that was specific to high altitude training. I searched to find training programs for Kilimanjaro and found Kate. I knew right away she would be perfect!

I definitely felt prepared and my training with Kate was a big piece of that preparation. Honestly, I feel her training gave me the confidence, direction and a very disciplined approach that I needed.

There was so much that I prepared on and off the mountain due to Kate’s guidance that made the time on Kilimanjaro more fun since I had a plan for each part of the climb, especially summit night.

My advice if you’re on the fence about working with Kate? Spend the money and hire Kate! It is invaluable to gain the knowledge, skills and training, plus the added bonus of having someone who has your back!

Lisa

Kate provides so much helpful information that you wouldn’t think of. Working with her was encouraging and she is very good at empowering you to move through fear.

I can’t thank you enough! It was a great climb! Heart rate was always between Z1 and Z2. Mind game was STRONG! My experience on Toubkal was just what I needed before Kilimanjaro. Feeling confident and strong! THANK YOU

Cuca

Feeling strong all the way to the top and back down. Legs could continue without any soreness.

All in all, it was a great experience but summit day for me was the most challenging. I was physically able to do it, but the cold and altitude were the bigger challenges. It was -15c (5f) with 40kmph (25mph) nonstop wind gusts. I experienced some altitude symptoms but they were mild, so we continued and were able to summit. Things got better once we started our decent.

Thank you again - it was incredible training with you!

Manny

I summited Kate!!! I’m so happy and proud of myself. Your training definitely helped me, both physically and mentally to reach the top and trek each day without getting tired.

The lead guide and I were the first to summit in our team and he was super impressed with my strength and fitness to follow behind so closely on every footstep. Made it back down today and already thinking about the next adventure. Elbrus, Lobuche East, Island peak?

Emily

I made it to the summit!! I'm so happy to have worked with Kate towards this goal, I’ve done a lot of high altitude climbing before but never felt as good as I did on this climb.

Her energy, experience, sincerity, and authenticity just shine through as a coach and a person. Kate and her training program pushed me harder than I’ve ever pushed myself physically and mentally – and I’ve done some very hard things in life. She helped me navigate my training and upleveling, overcome my analysis paralysis for gear selection, and work through some time tough personal times. Kate and her community of coaching clients provided such an incredible support network as well. My only regret is not training with Kate sooner. My dream is to climb Mt. Everest, and I am working with Kate on mapping my climbing objectives and training plan to turn that dream into a reality—starting with Manaslu. She is my coach, my mentor, my friend, my ally – there is no one I would rather work with to turn my dreams into a reality.

Sy

I knew the moment I spoke with Kate she was THE COACH to work with.

Manaslu

Before I started working with Kate, my training was disorganised and lacked structure. Despite the abundance of prebuilt programs available, I reached out to Kate after reading her book. I wanted the personal touch of someone who could listen to me and adjust my training plan according to life's normal curveballs—something a spreadsheet or prebuilt program simply can't do. I didn't want a one-size-fits-all approach because we are all so different.

Since working together towards Spantik, I have achieved three results that I am incredibly proud of. First, my physical fitness has improved significantly—pretty impressive for a mature woman! Second, my mental fitness has undergone unbelievable changes; my mindset during exercise and my approach to my goals and plans have transformed. Third, my knowledge around mountain-related topics, such as equipment, gear, nose breathing, and training.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without Kate's guidance and support. My favourite things about working with Kate include her deep expertise, which is incredibly reassuring; her ability to always find a way around and over any roadblocks (and I’ve had A LOT of roadblocks over the last five months). Her straightforward, honest communication, which I love and need.

Karen

Kate is incredibly easy to work with—responsive, patient, and a genuinely nice person.

Spantik

When my original plans to climb Elbrus had to change due to the conflict, it felt like Kate genuinely cared about helping me find the right alternative and worked with me to find an even better adventure.

The most beneficial aspects of working with Kate were definitely having her deep understanding of Sports Science coupled with mountaineering experience which provided a training plan that was super specific to the type of fitness I needed. On top of that, Kate’s general advice was invaluable - everything from advice on dealing with altitude to tips on tackling those long gruelling days of load carrying - all of which were put into practice on the expedition!

Working with Kate both helped me prepare as much as possible prior to the trip AND also armed me with tips, tricks and knowledge to help me face the various challenges of being at altitude in such an incredibly remote part of the world with no porters or assistance. Kate’s commitment to making sure I was doing my training plan and not skipping sessions was really the difference between me feeling as strong as I did versus how unprepared I would have been had I not stuck to her plan.

If you’re looking to take on your a high altitude or are fairly new to the climbing world and want to be your absolute strongest on the mountain then you should definitely have a chat with Kate.

Grant

Working with Kate was a really enjoyable experience - from day one she was super engaged and interested in not just improving my fitness levels, but in my expedition as a whole.

Karly Tau

I’ve been acquainted with Kate since 2021 when I came across her book on mountaineering and trekking. Her book is incredibly practical, easy to understand, and backed by solid evidence. It's filled with valuable tips that I've been applying ever since.

This year, I decided to sign up with Kate and join her coaching program in preparation for my Elbrus attempt, and I can confidently say that I was completely satisfied with the experience. Thanks to Kate’s coaching and training, I summited:

Elbrus on the 27th July 2023, followed by Aconcagua on the 19th January 2024, and most recently, Lobuche East on the 21st of May 2024.

Ayesha

Beyond just the training plan, I greatly appreciated the mental mindset preparation I received from Kate before my departure.

Elbrus

With your expertise, I could fully immerse myself in the process without constantly worrying about the results.

Semreen

Being coached by Kate was a breath of fresh air. It gave me a sense of relief knowing that you were diligently monitoring my progress and providing me with tailored guidance every step of the way.

The message I sent Ronan before his summit push:
"Something I thought about in my training today—it really is always just one step.

The Ronan who takes a step on flat ground is the same Ronan who takes it on steep ground. There is the same amount of power and strength in both. It's just the terrain that's changed. Don't give away your power Ronan, no matter how steep or flat the terrain is. Just keep taking the next step."

Ronan

Baruntse Summit at 7.47 this morning. Hardest one yet Kate...but your messages were my mantra ✨️ 🙌 ❤️

Baruntse

Manaslu

I did it!!! We still have another week in the trek, but I wanted to share!! Lobuche was amazing! And I was the only female to summit that day! My guide was super impressed. He kept saying how strong and fast I was. We were under portered by the guide service, so we've had to carry a lot more weight everyday than expected (35-45lbs), but thanks to you I can do that!! It's literally the hardest thing I've ever done! But just like you said.. One step at a time!

Jackie

Thank you for all your help and encouragement! ❤️ I couldn't have made it to the top without you. Cheers to the 6000-meter Club!

Three Passes and Lobuche East

Kate!! I DID IT!!! I summitted Ama Dablam! It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I was hit with AMS at around 6000m and vomited an entire afternoon. But I managed to OUTLAST and recovered the next morning, just in time for summit push. I felt strong and had no issues doing the technical climbing, jumaring, and upper body strength to get myself up the mountain. I took it one step at a time and suddenly I was at the top. And then I managed to get all the way back down to Base Camp on the same day on a long 20 hour endurance push.

Of the 3 other male members on my team, only 2 managed to summit but they crumbled after the summit, having to use artificial oxygen for a full day and developing HAPE, while I felt strong all the way back down. Not only was I physically in much better shape than my team mates, but I had a strong mental mindset on the mountain and managed to take care of the other expedition members when things got very hard. I know that’s all because of the time I’ve spent with you, preparing for this moment. I cannot tell you how often I muttered “outlast” to myself in between huffing and puffing up the mountain and in between nausea spells. THANK YOU for everything!! I’m looking at Everest North Side as my next objective…. let’s scheme together ☺️💗

Eva

THANK YOU for making me feel so prepared physically and mentally.

Ama Dablam

Hello all! We made it to EBC on October 19, 2024. Thank you so much Kate—for everything! All the training and preparation really paid off even though I was hit by altitude sickness like a ton of bricks at 5000 metres. It has been a pleasure to be a part of this group of really kick ass and supportive people. You are all amazing, inspirational, and wishing you all the best in your adventures!

Julie

All the training and preparation with Kate really paid off.

Everest Base Camp

I reached out to Kate as I read about her personal experience and wanted a coach that had themselves been on expeditions and immersed themselves in the mountaineering world. I also wanted someone to be accountable to instead of using a prebuilt programme where you can't ask questions or be called out for not engaging fully in the programme.

One of my most exciting results has been I am now able to run. I have always strongly disliked running but with a base of six months training with Kate, I decided to try it again and I now really enjoy it. I have even signed up for my first half marathon. I also feel so much stronger and fitter thanks to the structured workouts Kate has set out for me.

Lynda

My mindset has also changed, seeing exercise as a means of becoming stronger, maintaining my health and not focusing on aesthetics.

Nun Peak

I completed Kilimanjaro back in 2019 without a coach. When I compare my performance of that climb vs Island Peak.. well it's not really comparable if I'm honest. Kate pushed me to achieve something magnificent and believed in me 100%.... I couldn’t honestly imagine completing another high altitude climb without working with Kate.
I would recommend Kate to anyone who wants to succeed in their climbing pursuits - while success is not guaranteed, working with Kate will ensure you bring your A game to whatever climb you choose.

Ronan

Kate was hugely important as well when it came to preparing my mental game...

EBC & ISLAND PEAK

I came to Kate as a novice trekker, with an audacious goal — climb Lobuche East, despite having never done a high altitude peak let alone a big expedition!

Kate guided me to reach my (in retrospect crazy) goal. I started from scratch, with below average fitness levels, fear of falling, AMS, gear issues, and especially, steep slopes. On top of the training plan, Kate also taught me different ascending and descending strategies, breathing techniques, how to develop a “mountaineers mindset”, safety maneuvers, and lots more. Most of all, she supported and encouraged me from day to day. I successfully summited Lobuche East on the 16th October 2022 and will forever remember the feeling of pride and strength despite the serious hard work it took to get to that moment.

Kate has opened up an entirely new aspect of being in the mountains for me! I am enormously appreciative of Kate’s knowledge, Sports Science approach to training and most of all, her belief in me even when I didn’t see it/feel it!

Kelly

Kate is the real thing: an exceptional coach who is skilled, intuitive, ultra responsive, and communicative.

LOBUCHE EAST

Having done a lot of climbing in the Alps, I decided to set my goals a little higher and climb Lobuche East and Island Peak. I was concerned about my fitness and how to best prepare for an expedition vs the alpine climbs that I was used to in the Alps.

I had been following Kate on Instagram for a while and so I knew she was the right coach for me. If you’ve seen her profile then you’ll know how valuable her content is but quite frankly, that doesn’t even touch sides with the tips, advice, planning and crazy amount of high altitude knowledge that she’ll share with you as her client.

Apart from the training plan Kate built for me, I found her positive, upbeat attitude the second most important part of this physical endeavour. They say climbing a mountain is 20% training and 80% mental and I can say from my perspective that those percentages hold true. I was fitter than I've ever been before but most importantly I was mentally stronger than all of the challenges we faced on both peaks thanks to the mindset coaching that Kate took me through in addition to my training.

Terrence

Working with Kate will undoubtedly make all difference on your high altitude expedition - highly recommend her coaching program!

Lobuche East & Island Peak

Kate was always encouraging, takes a lot of her personal time to ensure that you stay on track, address any issues you have with training, taking into account illnesses (like Covid) and gives you 100% support. I have been working with Kate for about 18 months now and I am so delighted with my progress.
I would highly recommend Kate if you would like to start on this new mountaineering and trekking adventure! Her enthusiasm and energy is boundless. One of the most positive people I have met! I can honestly say she is not only my coach but also a friend! I am truly grateful for having an opportunity to work with her. Kate is now training me to run The Great Wall of China Marathon! Thank you Kate!!

Menaka

There are countless coaches available in todays world with lots of apps but what you get with Kate is unparalleled.

EVEREST BASE CAMP

Working with Kate as a coach has been invaluable to me. Even though I’d been climbing for years, I was new to the extreme high altitude realm so when I signed up for Baruntse I knew I’d have to up my training and mindset in a massive way. After reading about Kate’s training methods and coaching approach, it was clear that she knew what she was doing and would be the best option for me.

She designed my training plan down to the finest detail, even including grip strength in preparation for ascending and descending fixed lines, specific footwork techniques for steep slopes and breath work to control your pace and endurance.

The amount of knowledge and experience Kate has is just immense. It’s very clear that she’s spent a lot of time climbing herself and has been able to translate all of that into a highly effective and mountain specific coaching program.

I was undoubtedly the fittest in my group. If you’re considering working with her, know that her training is not easy and she’ll call you out if you’re making excuses/skipping sessions but it’ll all be worth it when you’re standing on your summit.

Jeff

Climbing Baruntse was an unforgettable experience made possible because of the planning and preparation Kate set out for me to follow.

BARUNTSE

I needed to have someone pushing me to be accountable and working with Kate was a real success. I would recommend Kate to anyone, like me, who is taking their first steps into the climbing world and is looking for a solid coach next to her/him/they who can really prepare them.

Virginia

Had I not worked with Kate, I doubt whether I would have been prepared enough (mentally or physically) for the plans I had...

ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT TREK

This authenticity instilled trust in her recommendations. Beyond just the training plan, I greatly appreciated the mental mindset preparation I received from Kate before my departure. Her online tips and support during the climb were invaluable. As an Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care physician who practices evidence-based medicine, it's of paramount importance to me that my coach adheres to the same principles and stays updated with the best practices. Kate, with her guidance from summit to summit, absolutely meets these standards.

I wholeheartedly recommend Kate if you want to streamline your mountain training journey and avoid trial and error. I feel blessed to have had Kate's support throughout my mountain and hiking journey.

Ayesha

What sets Kate apart is that she not only imparts knowledge but also practices what she preaches.

Training schedules are fun, diverse and cover all the different aspects of mountaineering. We also have regular catch ups on the phone about the progress, plans and how things feel which is enjoyable and very supporting.

If I go to the mountains now, I know that I trained for it with professional guidance and that I have prepared in the right way. I don’t think I would have managed all my ascents in the last 3 years without Kate’s guidance.

I would recommend Kate to anyone who is willing to train regularly, has a route/ peak planned and is looking for regular, professional and highly knowledgable support to prepare for it. Not only beginners, but also for advanced mountaineers.

Juls

Training with Kate definitely helps physically but also mentally.
